Food Packaging Services Built Around Your Application

Start with your food, format and supply requirements. We will help identify the most practical route from an existing package to a production-ready solution.

Existing PET food packaging options for packaging selection
01Select

Packaging Selection & Existing Mold Matching

The first step is to understand what you need to pack and what the packaging must achieve. Tell us about the food or product, required capacity or dimensions, closure, protection, display and transportation requirements.

Instead of asking you to search through a catalog alone, our team will review the application and recommend suitable options from StlPak’s existing packaging range. In most cases, one of our established product families can meet or closely match the project requirements.

Share Your Product & Requirements → StlPak Reviews the Application → Recommended Existing Options → Sample & Confirm

A separate packaging structure or new mold is considered only when the available options cannot provide the required fit or performance. This recommendation-first approach helps customers reach a practical packaging solution more efficiently.

Custom PET food packaging structure and technical design
02Design

Custom Packaging Design

When an existing container does not fit the product or packing process, we can develop the structure around the actual application.

Design considerations can include overall length, width and height, container depth, capacity, hinged or separate lid structure, locking points, ventilation holes, compartments, label area, stacking features, bottom support and denesting structure.

Size • Depth • Capacity • Closure • Ventilation • Compartments • Label Area • Stacking • Denesting

The objective is not simply to change the shape, but to make the packaging work better for the food, filling process, retail display and transportation. See how to evaluate existing and custom mold options.

03Develop

Tooling & Mold Development

With more than 600 existing molds, many projects can begin from an existing StlPak format. Existing structures can also be reviewed for size or feature adjustments when practical.

For completely new requirements, we support custom thermoforming mold development from drawing to production.

CAD Drawing → Mold Design → CNC Tooling → Trial Mold → Production Mold

Keeping packaging development, tooling and thermoforming within the same manufacturing system makes it easier to adjust dimensions, closure details and forming performance during development.

Evaluating a clear PET food container prototype before production
04Sample & Validate

Prototype & Sample Development

Sampling is not only about checking how the container looks. It is the stage where the packaging should be tested against the actual product and packing process.

We can provide samples from existing molds as well as custom prototype or pre-production samples.

Product Fit • Lid Fit • Closure • Stacking • Appearance • Handling • Packing Line Compatibility
Drawing Review → Tooling & Sampling → Fit & Handling Check → Production Confirmation

For suitable existing models, samples can also help customers compare several packaging options before making a purchasing decision.

PET and rPET material options for food packaging

Material Selection

Material selection affects clarity, rigidity, recycled content, cost, forming performance and food-contact requirements.

Depending on the application and destination market, we can help customers evaluate PET, rPET and other suitable thermoforming materials.

Virgin PET • 30% rPET • 50% rPET • 70% rPET • 100% rPET • GRS-supported rPET • GRS rPET with transaction-level TC traceability
Clarity • Rigidity • Weight • Recycled Content • Temperature • Compliance • Target Market

For recycled-content programs, we can also discuss whether the project requires recycled material only or transaction-level traceability documentation.

PET food container closure and performance testing
06Optimize

Packaging Performance Optimization

Packaging performance should be checked before focusing only on appearance or unit price.

Depending on the application, we can review whether the lid is easy to open, whether the closure is secure, whether containers stack properly and whether nested containers can be separated smoothly during packing.

Opening Force • Closure Security • Stacking Stability • Denesting • Tray Sealer Compatibility • Transport Deformation • Flange / Seal Area • Material Efficiency

For customers using automatic filling, sealing or packing equipment, dimensions and structural details may also need to match the existing production line. This includes application-specific requirements for tamper-evident packaging.

The goal is to achieve the required performance without adding unnecessary material or structural complexity.

Automatic labeling and private label food packaging service
07Prepare for Market

Labeling, Branding & Private Label

Packaging may need to arrive ready for the customer’s sales channel, not simply as an unbranded container.

Automatic Labeling • Custom Labels • Barcode Labels • Logo / Private Label • Printed Packaging • Custom Cartons

These services are especially useful for distributors, retail programs, food brands and marketplace sellers that need packaging prepared for resale or direct use.

The objective is to move from manufacturing a container to preparing packaging that is closer to channel-ready.

StlPak food contact packaging compliance support
08Document

Food-Contact Compliance Support

Food packaging buyers often need more than a product specification. They may also need supporting documents for internal approval, customer audits or destination-market requirements.

FDA Food-Contact Information • EU Food-Contact Documentation • Declarations / Compliance Documents • Material Documentation • GRS Documentation • Quality-System Documents

Our current certification and compliance system includes FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, GRS and relevant FDA / EU food-contact support.

Specific document requirements should be confirmed according to the material, destination market and customer program.

PET food packaging production and quality control
09Produce

Production & Quality Control

Quality control does not begin only after the containers are finished. It should continue through material preparation, forming, trimming, inspection, packing and shipment.

Material Inspection → Sheet Extrusion → Thermoforming → Trimming → Dimension Check → Lid Fit → Appearance → Packing → Shipment Inspection

Key checks can include dimensions, container weight, appearance, forming quality, lid fit, closure performance, stacking and packing consistency.

For repeat orders, maintaining consistency between production batches is just as important as approving the first sample.

Food packaging warehouse supply and container loading support
10Supply

Supply & Logistics Support

For distributors, importers and foodservice suppliers, packaging supply often involves more than one SKU and more than one shipment.

Mixed SKU Orders • Carton Optimization • Container Loading • Seasonal Production Planning • Repeat Replenishment • Inventory / Make-and-Hold Planning • FOB / CIF / DDP Support • Air and Sea Shipment Coordination

For container programs, we can also review carton dimensions, loading efficiency and SKU combinations to make better use of available container space.

The objective is to support stable repeat supply rather than treat every order as a separate one-time shipment.
